Over 8% of the US population — more than 25 million Americans — suffered from some form of diabetes in 2011. As more Americans are diagnosed, we are learning more and more about how this disease affects people in different ways. One thing that's certain is that almost anyone with diabetes can feel healthier, and live a longer, fuller life with proper management to reduce the risk of developing serious complications. Managing diabetes is a life-long endeavor.
