"Serve the underserved" - It's a precept Dr. Pryor's lives by and it's also her promise to the community and the patients who depend on her. "Growing up, I was naturally attracted to science and guided by a desire to help others" says Dr. Pryor. "I'm from a strong southern family that includes many physicians who, like me, believe it's an honor to serve people in such a precious way. Today, I'm able to do that for seniors at JenCare."
Dr. Pryor attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. After being accepted into the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, she spent three years in the combined PhD/MD program and four additional years earning her medical degree. Afterward, Dr. Pryor continued her training for three years in the Morehouse School of Medicine internal medicine residency program.
Her academic and professional achievements are many and have been recognized by the community, major health systems and accreditation bodies, including the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Dr. Pryor has taught and mentored rising medical students and conducted and published extensive research in the area of hypertension. She has also published and presented on the topic of preventive medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and her professional associations include the American College of Physicians, the National Medical Association and the American Heart Association.
Dr. Pryor and her husband have two children and enjoy spending quality time together. Her active lifestyle includes hiking, swimming, running and hot yoga. She also enjoys time in the kitchen where she transforms her favorite family recipes into healthier versions of the originals. The Pryors are travel enthusiasts and have visited many areas in South Africa, Europe and Central America. Dr. Pryor is currently learning Spanish and looks forward to new opportunities to practice her skills in her own community as well as in Spanish-speaking countries.
