  • Nina Anderson

    DVM

Dr. Nina Anderson grew up in Michigan. Though she has lived in Georgia for several years, people still detect a Midwestern accent. Dr. Anderson graduated from Harvard College before continuing her education at the University of Michigan and Michigan State. She received her DVM from Michigan State University in 1998. Dr. Anderson has been and remains active in leadership with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). She became part of the VCA Buckhead AH team in July of 2005. She lives in Decatur with her husband Mike, their dogs Penelope and Molly, and two cats, Zooey and Francis. "My love of animals, science and working in the community led me to veterinary medicine. It is like no other job in the world! I am amazed to see how much veterinary medicine has progressed since my vet school days. I love to continue learning and improving this art of medicine. One of the biggest joys of working here is getting to know our clients and their animals.".

  • Heather Krohne

    DVM

Dr. Heather (Markway) Krohne was born in St. Louis, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for undergraduate and veterinary school. She graduated from the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and continued her education as a small animal intern at Mississippi State University before relocating to Atlanta in 2007. She began working at Buckhead Animal Hospital in August of 2007 and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Krohne recently married and now lives in Marietta with her husband, two boxers named Moxie and Murdock, a Maine Coon mix named Mr. Rosie, a flock of chickens and a tank of South American Discus fish. In her free time, she enjoys reading, scuba diving and gardening. . "Growing up in the Midwest, my family was always surrounded by furry family members - cats, dogs, horses, chickens, guinea pigs and hamsters. There was never a doubt in my mind that I would become a veterinarian and care for these amazing creatures. Every day, I get to meet different animals and people and experience the wonderful bond they share. My "job" allows me to help care for pets, educate owners in prevention medicine, build relationships with clients, and work with many intelligent and caring people.".

  • Michale Davis

    DVM

Dr. Michale Davis was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After high school, she moved to Atlanta to attend Emory University, graduating with a degree in Biology in 1996. Dr. Davis then attended the University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!) for Veterinary school, graduating in 2000. Prior to joining the team at VCA Buckhead Animal Hospital, she worked at an emergency clinic for 11 years. Dr. Davis lives in Flowery Branch with her 3 children, Archer, Katie & Mateo and 3 cats & 2 dogs who are all rescues. We are excited to have her join our team as the Medical Director with her special interests in surgery and critical care!. "The human animal bond has always amazed me. My first dog, Fritz, was my best friend and saying good-bye to him is one of my most vivid childhood memories. In high school I fell in love with science. I took an anatomy and physiology class my senior year and at that point I knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. In college I took a summer job at an animal hospital and discovered that veterinary medicine would be the perfect career path since it combined my two passions - animals and science. After school I discovered that I loved bonding with people just as much as I loved bonding with their pets. I am so grateful for the relationships I have developed witht the clients of VCA Buckhead Animal Hospital. Comforting an upset pet owner is just as rewarding as making a sick or injured pet feel better. The staff I get to work with every day makes me so proud. Everyone is here because they care about animals and only want to keep them healthy. My favorite cases are the ones where multiple team members come together to help a sick or injured pet. This is not a job that can be done alone and I am so thankful that I have a team I trust and respect.".

  • Stephanie Craft

    DVM

Dr. Craft grew up in Richland, Mississippi. After graduating from Mississippi State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to begin her career. After practicing in Atlanta for 5 years, Dr. Craft became a Civilian Associate Veterinarian for our military and was stationed in Aviano, Italy. Dr. Craft recently returned to the USA and accepted a position as a part of our veterinary team. Her many years of experience is a great addition to an already outstanding team of veterinarians. Dr. Craft is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her cat, Zoe. Her hobbies are photography and reading. We are very excited to have Dr. Craft joining our hospital. "I have known I wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. To my mother and father's dismay I brought home every stray and sick animal that I could find. Once I got older I discovered a love for science and it was a perfect match. Growing up in Mississippi I witnessed many animals that weren't taken care of because of a lack of pet welfare education. I knew that I wanted to be a part of improving the lives of animals. I never considered the bond that I would form with owners. One of the most fulfilling parts of my job is getting to know my clients and their families. I love working here becasue I honestly feel that everyone here loves animals and wants to do all we can to make them healthy and happy.".

Dr. Niefer has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine and geriatric medicine. "I've loved animals since I was a young girl but didn't consider becoming a veterinarian until I started my first job at the age of 15 in the kennel of a local veterinary clinic. That was my first exposure to the depth and complexity of care involved in veterinary medicine and I've had a passion for it ever since! I truly enjoy all aspects of medicine and surgery, but I enjoy getting to know the pets and their families even more. I definitely have one of the greatest and most unique jobs in the world!".
